Aroooooo! I mean, Hello!

My name is Chester and I am the sweetest old man you’ll ever meet! My tail never stops wagging and, as far as I am concerned, there is no such thing as too many cuddles. My foster mom says I am so cute that everyone I meet has to stop and pet me! I don’t mind, because attention is the best thing ever :)

I was found as a stray about six weeks ago and the folks who found me don’t think I had a very good life before I came to Midwest BREW. I had a few health problems to overcome in my foster home, including some extremely early signals that I might have kidney problems some time in the future. My blood levels are all fine, but I am being fed a kidney care diet just to be on the safe side. Before I came to Midwest BREW I was probably kept in a kennel for a long, long time because my teeth have been worn down from chewing on bars. I also had worms and I was extremely skinny. That’s ok, though, because that just means my foster mom lets me eat as much as I want!!! My face is a little lopsided because I had a stroke some time in the recent past, but the vet says that I am recovering well and she expects me to make a full recovery. There is no sign that I will have more and she thinks I am in good shape for an old dude! You should probably know that I am hard of hearing, but that doesn’t stop me from being a lot of fun! In fact, it contributes to my “low maintenance” attitude. I don’t “aroo” very much because I don’t hear other dogs outside or get startled by noises easily. I am a pretty chill old dude!

I love going on daily walks with my foster dad and the other beagles who live here—we go a long way and I love to hunt for squirrels! I get along great with other dogs and I am fully house trained. I only had a few accidents when I first got to my foster home. As soon as I figured out the low down on where to do my business I quickly adapted.

If you want a chill, “low maintenance,” housetrained companion who is good with other dogs and enjoys cuddling on the couch just as much as he loves going for long walks (and eating!!!), then I’m your man! I may not be a puppy anymore, but I have so much love to give and I don’t get into any trouble at all! Who needs a puppy when you’ve got my maturity, wisdom, super cute face and wagging tail! If you think I sound like the beagle for you just let Midwest BREW know and my foster mom will tell you all about me.
