Sharla Nichols Fasko. Brian Hunter: Our beagle Larry and I hope you are feeling better soon!

Mikey is a handsome tri-color guy who is about 3 years old. Things might have been rough for Mikey in the past. He’s fearful at times and needs patience and time in order to warm up to people. He seems to feel more fear of men than women. He jumps at sudden movements, but becomes more confident when there’s another dog around. He leans on his foster brother and sister to know where the good stuff is like petting, food and blanket snuggle time.

Mikey has his crazy zoomy time when he sprints from room to room in the mornings, when it’s food time or when his foster mom or dad come back home after being gone for a bit. Mikey’s crate trained. He has learned that his crate is where he gets snacks and meals, so he now goes right on in with the help of food or treats (his foster brother and sister show him the way). He has also found his crate to be a bit of a safe spot instead of being fearful of it. He sometimes goes in there to hang out for a bit and getting a breather. His favorite spot is on the big family bed right in the middle of his foster mommy and daddy. He’ll be sure to be your best alarm clock saying “good morning” with tail wags and lots of kisses.

Mikey is working on house training. Some days are better than others. Currently, he’s in a home without a fence and he does very well on a leash. It most likely would help him out a bit though with house training and confidence building if he had a fence and some room to run around a little.

If you have the patience, time and love to give to Mikey let Midwest BREW know that you’re interested in being his furever home.
