Sarah McLachlan is such a special girl she has two pictures with Santa.  She is 8 years old and weighs 28 pounds.  She was a champion field trial Beagle in her former life but now she is a champion family dog.  Field trial beagles are called Brace Beagles and are stalkier and lower to the ground than other beagles.  Brace Beagles look like Beagle-basset mixes but are 100% beagle.  They are bred to follow scents with their nose to the ground with "percolating sounds" and a low bark.  They walk in a slow and deliberate fashion and therefore, are not good for hiking or walking unless one is patient and walks slowly.  Also brace Beagles can be quite vocal as they walk.  Sarah is quiet in the house but cries for a short time if left alone by her foster mom or her foster brother.

Sarah is very loving and is enjoying being adored by her foster mom.  She also loves the resident dogs and especially loves the other foster beagle.  The two are bonded and curl around each other to sleep.  She came into the rescue along with Penny, another brace beagle.  It was observed that Sarah took her cues from Penny and subsequently takes her cues from her foster brother.  For these reasons, Sarah needs another dog and preferably another beagle.

Sarah is house-trained and loves to eat.  Sadly Sarah came into the rescue with some health issues.  She had lots of teeth pulled and has learned to eat her kibble.  She has been treated for her UTI and is now ready to start her life as a loved family member.

If you would like to find out more information about Sarah McLachlan, contact Midwest BREW and her foster mom would love to tell you more about this wonderful Beagle girl.
