Whitley was a very good mother to her five puppies and now that they've all moved to great homes and she has completed heartworm treatment. She's ready to find a home of her own!

Whitley is a rare quiet beagle and hardly ever barks, she makes a very funny yowling noise instead. She loves to walk on a leash, never pulls, and is very polite to the people and dogs she meets along the way. She would be a good city or apartment beagle, because she’s pretty quiet and LOVES to walk on leash. I think she was an outside dog before and had lots of adventures, so she likes to be outside exploring whenever she can. She's been with kids as young as 5 and is very gentle with them. She hasn't been tested with cats.

She is crate trained but has safely been given the run of the kitchen with a crate to go back to and has had few accidents or problems. She fits right in with her fellow foster dogs: she loves playing with the younger one and will wrestle and chase, but will sleep for hours with the old dog, too. She likes to lie on the couch with humans but prefers to be near them, not on them. She's not a clingy dog at all! She would be happy in a home with other dogs, and could adjust to being an only dog if neccessary.

Whitley would be an ideal beagle for anyone who is missing a sweet, calm beagle in their life!
