Buzz had back surgery and was on our “sponsors needed” page for quite some time. He has been cleared by his neurologist, and he is finally ready to find his furever home!

Buzz is a sweet 11 year old beagle. He was brought into rescue when he was having issues walking, he would just drag his back legs by the end of the day. We hoped he just had a herniated disc, but he had a cyst that was causing a compression and making it difficult for him to walk. Buzz had surgery and recovered wonderfully. He doesn’t run normally, but he doesn’t care, and he can even go up and down the stairs now, which he couldn’t before. Buzz has a lot of heart!

He was also very skinny when he came into foster care and has gained the amount of weight he needs to. He gets along with all the dogs in his foster home. He’s a very sweet old dog and just wants to be loved. He doesn’t need to be crated when his foster parents are gone and is house trained. He also likes to play with toys sometimes when he’s feeling frisky.

Buzz will require some medications for the rest of his life. He is currently on Carprofen (generic rimadyl) for his arthritis. He is also itchy and seems to have some allergies. He is currently on Apoquel, 1/2 tablet once daily.

Buzz is a great dog and a perfect companion and would make a great addition to the right family. Please contact your Midwest BREW counselor if you would like more information on him.

NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
