Jana (Janey) is 3 or 4 years old and just under 25 pounds. She is a total snuggler and would love to keep you company on the sofa, in your recliner, and in the big bed at night. She rarely barks, and she sleeps soundly all night.

Janey was afraid of everything when she first arrived and has made a lot of progress getting used to everyday noises inside the house. She is still very suspicious of the dishwasher and the vacuum, and loud or unusual noises will frighten her. She likes to go on walks in the neighborhood and loves the nature trail at the local park. Janey is very frightened of children, bicycles, lawn mowers, etc., so she would do a lot better with a fenced in yard where she can feel safe when doing her business. Otherwise it can take her a long time to settle down and get focused. She is also not very quick to warm up to new people, even though she will warm up eventually.

Janey does well in her pen or behind a baby gate when I am in the office half days. She has become very good at pottying outside as long as we stick to the schedule, but she sometimes chews on inappropriate things, which means she hasn’t earned the right to roam free when I am gone. She is working on “come” and “sit” with good results. She has overcome a lot of her fears in the past three months, but she will do best in a quieter setting.

Janey will be a sweet and loving companion to a lucky adopter.
