Ellie * Popular Good with DogsNeeds Another DogGood with ChildrenHousetrainedNeeds a fenced yard
Gender: Female Age: 1 - 2 years Status: Adopted

Ellie is red. So red and so beautiful! All the way from her light red speckled paws and chest to her deep auburn colored back. Red nose, amber eyes, even little red toenails.

Ellie is about 18 months old and a real delight. Petite, easy going and friendly, good with children and other dogs. No beagle lover could resist this little girl (yes, she howls).

Ellie was thought to possibly have separation anxiety in her former home. She was unhappy and destructive when left alone, whether in a crate or in a room. She was on a tie out and was an only dog. Since coming to her foster home, with a fenced in yard and another dog(s), she willingly gets in her crate and goes right to sleep until she is let out, sometimes after several hours. She also is crated at night.

She has been on camera at all times during day crating and has never pawed at the gate or floor.

In order to ensure that there is no reoccurrence, we need to mimic her foster home environment: someone at home most of the time, fenced in yard, and another dog capable of some play. Ellie is a

fooler; moment to moment she appears to be low energy, but she seems to need to have (what we call) a rumble or two with a playmate to have her best life. But no fooling about this, when she sits and gives you her pretty red paw, you’ll need to have her in your life!

NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
