Spartacus is an awesome beagle. He is about 2-3 years old and medium energy. He has a warm and loving personality, he loves to play, he loves food, and he loves to sniff! His ideal family would be one that could spend a lot of time with him, provide a secured area to roam or to take him on lots of walks, and one that is looking for a cuddle buddy!

Spartacus has one of the sweetest personalities a beagle could have. He loves to give “hugs” as much as he loves to be loved on. He’ll want to be on your lap, in your bed, in the car, and by your side wherever you go.

Heading out is one of his favorite things. “Sparty”gets very excited when his leash comes out, and he is quite the athlete when it comes to catching the tennis ball. He has a fully functional beagle nose so he also enjoys exploring all over outside. He will need to have a fenced in yard or be leashed at all times.

When needed, he will go in his crate. He may cry for a few minutes but he then lies down and goes to sleep. He is very well behaved and because of that he has earned the right to not be crated when left alone (as long as the trash is secured!)

At some point in his life, Sparty suffered an injury to his tail. It had gotten pulled hard enough that it damaged the nerves that control his tail and that led to incontinence. This will require a special family that is equipped and willing to love him with his condition. He wears a belly band inside the house but he doesn’t mind it at all.

Everyone who has met him has fallen in love with him. Since he loves being outside wants to follow when the door is opened, a person or a family without small children may be the best fit. He gets along with other dogs and attends doggy daycare a few times a week, so he would be happy having a canine sibling or being the only child as he is now. He doesn’t seem too sure about cats, though.

If you feel you are the right family and could welcome him into your home, please ask about Spartacus! He’ll make your family grow by four feet!
