Nutmeg (aka Meg or Meggie) came in as a stray at our local Ohio shelter. She is a quiet and shy little red and white girl about 3 years old with beautiful red ticking. No one knows her back story but I'm willing to bet she didn't have the best life. She wants to be loved but is fearful of being hurt. During the day she doesn't want to get too near you but at night she loves to snuggle close. If I pick her up and put her next to me on the couch she loves to be petted and cuddled and have her head scratched. She is coming around and starting to trust. Meg uses the doggy door to go outside but now that it’s colder she doesn't stay out for long. She doesn't get up on the couch by herself but she runs to the bedroom to claim her spot when I say it’s time for bed. She is fine with my beagle though they do not play. Because she is still shy she would probably do best in a quieter home without a lot of activity or noise. She is good in the car and does well on a leash. Meggie will be awesome once she is settled in a permanent home where she can learn what it means to be safe. If she sounds like a match for your home please give Midwest BREW a call. NOTE: Dogs may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI). |
