Gender: Female Age: 3 - 4 months Status: Adopted

Eliza is one of the “Hamilton” puppies. She is a Beagle mix on the bigger side. We have had a DNA test done, and she is Beagle, Coonhound, American Staffordshire Terrier, Miniature Pinscher, and German Shepherd! What a mix! In personality, though, she is Beagle through and through!

Eliza is still very much in a teething stage and will need lots of toys and healthy things to chew on. She will do best with a younger playmate as she plays with her foster sister nonstop and loves to cuddle with the other dogs on the couch when she needs a little break from playing.

She loves to also cuddle with her humans and will just look at you and sigh waiting to be petted. She is a momma’s girl in particular, and will whine anytime foster Mom leaves the room. We think she will improve over time as she grows older and grows in confidence. She will be very trainable and does great with a routine! Eliza is very smart and learns quickly. She knows when it’s time to eat and will run to her crate and sit patiently waiting for her food. Just wait till you pet her too-oh so soft!! If anyone is looking for a high energy, loving and smart girl-Eliza is for you!

NOTE: Dogs may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Please read our Standards for Adoption and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog that will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements. We discourage the adoption of puppies to families with children under the age of six, since puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets, hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.
