Corporal here, reporting for duty! And there is a lot I can contribute to the team! I already know many commands like “sit” and “down”, and I am a very smart boy and a fast learner. I love playing with my toys, especially rope and ring toys that I can play tug of war with. After play time is over, I love snuggling on the couch with my foster family and I also enjoy snuggling up in bed with them, too.

I get along well with other dogs, and one of my favorite things is to wrestle with them, so if you have a young, energetic dog in your family that I can play with, that would be fantastic! An older or more mellow dog would probably find me too over the top with my style of playing. I would also do well as an only dog, too. No cats for me, though; I stalk the resident cat here in my foster home and she doesn’t like it one bit!

Life isn’t all playtime though, and I will need some ongoing training so that I am (as they say in the military) ship-shape. If I get bored, I will find things to amuse myself, and they are not always my toys. And I like some of those things so much that I just don’t want to give them back! My foster family is working with me on this by offering me a better alternative so that I’ll give up whatever I’m not supposed to have. I am learning that the exchange is usually in my favor (and generally involves peanut butter!). But I do need to continue with this training, and my forever family will have to practice with me. Foster Dad will be happy to tell you more about this!

I just adore going for walks - my mighty hunter instinct comes to the forefront, and I sniff everything on my path and track every bunny, squirrel, and dog I come across. I tolerate being crated, and foster dad says I am 100% house trained.

So you see, life with a Corporal can be pretty sweet! I offer up a lot of joy and a lot of laughs, and I am willing to put in the training work to be the best boy ever. I also offer up a lot of snuggles, and I’m ready to be promoted to YOUR forever family! Contact Midwest BREW today and ask about me, Corporal!
