Hi!!  I’m a cute and wiggly boy named Baxter and I’m eight months old. I am a very sweet, ENERGETIC and an all-around a very happy boy! I go to doggy daycare twice a week and I love it! I am ready to play at any given moment, however I also have a quiet side and am okay with just relaxing and cuddling. I would be okay with a canine sibling but I would also be fine being the center of attention as long as I get plenty of playtime. I don’t mind cats, although I think I’m more curious about them then they are of me. I’m also a good watch dog!

I love walks! I love them so much that I need to work on my leash manners. Foster dad is trying to help me remember to not jump on people. I also do well in the car as long as I can look out the windows. As far as a crate, I am not a big fan. I will cry for a while but eventually relax and take a nap.

I am mostly potty trained. As long as I have a regular potty schedule I should do just fine. I would prefer my own fenced yard or secured by a tie-out and be supervised.

Unlike most beagles, I rarely bark and I don’t get excited about outdoor varmints. My coat is super soft and I barely shed. I know I don’t look exactly like other beagles. I stand about 17” tall and weigh 29 pounds. My foster dad gave me a doggy DNA test and will be happy to give you that info when it comes in.

At the end of the day, I fall asleep next to my foster dad and dream about what exciting things I might get to do tomorrow.  Maybe one of those days it will be meeting you and then becoming your little boy.  If you would like to know more, please ask about Baxter!

NOTE: Dogs may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Please read our Standards for Adoption and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog that will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements. We discourage the adoption of puppies to families with children under the age of six, since puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets, hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.
