Hi. Meet Cooper, a handsome Beagle boy who is 2 1/2 years old and full of playful energy.

Some of his favorite things are playing with foster brother, playing with toys, and meeting new people and dogs. He enjoys being outside come rain or sun.

His playful energy belies a sweet natured and relaxed attitude. Nothing seems to bother this beagle and he will happily go with the flow. Cooper is outgoing and friendly to everyone he meets. His foster family doesn’t have young kids or cats in the home but he is gentle and obliging when young children want to pet him while he is on a walk. He has a good appetite but isn’t overly food driven. He will happily take a treat and play with it for a few minutes before he eats it.

He is learning about house training and doing well. Cooper loves being outside and sometimes doing his business comes in second to sniffing everything in the yard and observing people and other dogs walking by the house. He is getting better everyday but for now he sleeps in a crate at night to avoid any accidents. He has been left alone while his foster family leaves the house for short periods of time and he has done great.

He is not a digger nor a chewer except if he thinks it might be a toy.  Cooper is a vocal beagle if he sees another person or dog walking by the house. Sometimes he is so excited to see people walking by the house that he tries to escape through the fence. He wears a soft cone that allows him to run and play in the yard but prevents him from escaping through the fence.

He is learning how to have good manners when his foster family eats dinner. Cooper is also learning to walk on a leash which he loves but he will continue to need a little more practice on how to walk without pulling so much.

Currently Cooper has another dog in the house to play with and he would thrive in a household with another energetic dog to play with and be his buddy. Because of his mellow personality, he doesn’t require a lot of attention but he happily accepts praise and treats. This sweet boy would do well in a home with a patient family with another playful dog.
