Beagle mix

Hi, my name is Lacy. I’m 5 month-old, 18-pound beautiful beagle mix. I’m searching for a family of humans to spoil and pamper me at all times of the day and night. In return I promise to give lots of beagle kisses, cuddles and playfulness. I love to be picked up, carried around, snuggled and given lots of back scratches and belly rubs. My foster mom says I’m the most affectionate beagle she’s ever had. I do love my humans! If you want to become my permanent human, you will have to say goodbye to your personal space. I follow foster mom all around the house giving her kisses on the backs of her legs as she walks. Yes, I am an absolute sweetheart! I can’t stress enough how much I love to snuggle and give kisses.

I am at that age where I am teething so I am quite mouthy. I tend to nip and bite at hands and feet and any other body parts within my reach. I am only playing of course, but my baby teeth are quite sharp. For this reason, I may not be the best choice for a family with very young children. I will require patience and positive training from my adoptive family in this area.

I am great with other dogs. I would really enjoy having another young energetic dog to play bitey-face with me. I LOVE to run, jump and play. Foster mom says I have enough energy to power the entire neighborhood through a rolling blackout.

I am crate trained. I do well sleeping in my crate all night. During the day, I do NOT like to be away from my humans. I would not do well with long periods of alone time.

I really do not like to ride in the car. But I will be quiet and well behaved in the car if I am bribed with a McDonald’s pup cup. I am mostly potty trained but will need some reinforcement in this area. This is another area where I would be helped by having another dog in my house. I am quite the follower and like to do what the other dogs do. I’m generally submissive towards other dogs, but I don’t take the hint easily when older dogs do not want to play with me.

Please consider becoming my lifelong human family.

Love and kisses,

NOTE: Dogs may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Please read our Standards for Adoption and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog that will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements. We discourage the adoption of puppies to families with children under the age of six, since puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets, hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.
