Beagle mix

Ralph is a happy, playful, energetic, and loving 1 year old beagle mix weighing 34 lbs. He is long, lanky, adorable and most likely has some coonhound in him.

We don’t exactly know how he ended up in a shelter but due to space restrictions, he was 4 hours away from being euthanized before getting taken into rescue. With how much love and life he still has left, we are so happy he gets to live it out!

Ralph loves all people and all other dogs. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body.

He is working on not jumping up on people but he tells us he just is so excited he just doesn’t know how to contain it. In addition, we are also working on his walking skills, which are improving each and every day. He is fully potty trained as long as he is maintained on a consistent schedule. He is also crate trained but does take a few minutes for him to settle in.

Although he has a lot of energy, he is able to calm down and cuddle up next to you for evening TV sessions. Being next to his humans is his favorite!!

He is a very smart boy, and we believe that with further time and training, he’ll be an extremely well behaved, loyal companion.

We think Ralph would do best in a home where he can be taken on many walks, outdoor time, and visits to dog parks to get out all of his energy for the day. Having a dog sibling is not a must but he would do well in either situation. And yes, wherever he goes, he’ll bring his favorite duck toy (see photos).

If you think Ralph would be a great addition to your family, please contact your adoption coordinator.

NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
