Donate To Our Beagles In Need

Rescued beagles need your help! Midwest BREW operates solely on the generosity of people like you. Big or small, every donation helps in our ability to care for these animals. We are an all volunteer organization, and 100% of your donation goes to the care of our animals. Please help us provide medical care, spay/neutering, boarding, food, and transportation to these beagles that have been abused, lost, or surrendered until they find their new home. Your support enables us to create happy endings for beagles. Whether you are interested in making a general donation or sponsoring a particular beagle, your contribution will make a difference!

Midwest BREW is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Sponsor a Beagle

Sponsoring one of our beagles is a great way to show your support for Midwest BREW. We rely on the donations of generous animal lovers like you to be able to rescue beagles. In many cases, these homeless dogs require extensive veterinary care—much more than the adoption donation covers. Each beagle that comes into Midwest BREW’s program is brought up to date on shots, heartworm tested, spayed or neutered, dewormed, and microchipped. In addition, we must supply flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, any continuing medication, and occasionally even food until that beagle is adopted. Sometimes they are kenneled for brief time until a foster home opens up. If the beagle needs treatment for heartworm, we provide that as well.

Tiny

Tiny is a cute beagle mix that is about 7 years old. She came into the program on 7/14/2026 from a hoarding situation.  On 7/16/2026 she had a few minor seizure then a grand mal. She was taken to the vet clinic, stabilized, and placed on anti-seizure medication.  Throughout the week she did well, on 7/25/2026 Tiny had more cluster seizures lasting longer than previous and a grand mal lasting too long. She was taken to the ER hospital where she was stabilized and spent the night. This morning the anti-seizure medication was increased, an hour later she had another seizure.

We are opting to do more testing and will be in the ER hospital for another night to determine why she is seizing but this can only be done with your generous donations.

Update 07/27/26:

Tiny spent two nights in the ER and had an MRI this morning:  Anesthesia was tolerated well with no complications or concerns. Following the procedure, recovery was uneventful. Imaging reveals a mild degree of hydrocephalus with larger ventricles than expected, though not severe or overly concerning from a progression or quality of life standpoint. A mild degree of Chiari malformation was also identified, which is a condition where the back of the skull is smaller than it should be, causing compression and potential for syrinx formation, which is fluid buildup in the neck. These malformations are common in small dogs and are likely associated with more global abnormal development of the brain that probably predisposed to seizures. No tumor, infection, autoimmune disease, old trauma, or stroke was identified on imaging. Keppra at current dose of 250 mg (increased from 125 mg on Sunday). She will have an additional medication to the Keppra and her foster family will have an emergency medication available if she has a seizure.

Once the seizures are controlled, Tiny is expected to live a normal life.  Tiny is at her foster home being cared for at this time.

Without your donation, we could not provide Tiny with the appropriate testing and analysis. Thank you.
