Beagle mix

Hi my name is Ghita and I am a 13 week old Beagle mix puppy. My sisters and brother were colored like Beagles and I seem to be colored more like a Terrier. I am a very smart girl and have been enjoying my stay with my foster family but now I’m looking for my forever home. My foster mom is very impressed with how quick I learn things. I’m doing great on pottytraning and know the word “outside” now and will run to the door when asked to go outside. I am learning basic commands such as “sit”, “lie down”, “stay” and doing very well with them.   I even come when I’m called now.

I get along with the other dog in my foster home; we play together, cuddle together and even eat together; but she is teaching me manners so that I am learning when it’s time to stop playing. I even get along with the cat in the house; although I do try to get her to play. I do wonderful in my crate at night and when my foster family has to run errands. I sleep all through the night in my crate. I can walk very nicely in a leash. I also ride very nice in the car and don’t seem to mind it at all.

But I am still a puppy and can get into a little bit of mischief, I like to steal shoes and other items around the house and hide them from my foster mom. So far I haven’t chewed up anything; just like to hide them. I do have a basket filed with my own toys and love to run around the house with them. I definitely have a Beagle nose and when I get a scent of something I stick to it.

I will definitely make a great companion for a nice family and am anxiously waiting.

NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Please read our Standards for Adoption and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog that will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements; and for families with very small children, puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets and hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.
