Are you experiencing the winter doldrums?  Feeling stuck in a rut?  Looking for more love and affection in your life? Introducing Baby or Maya as her foster family calls her. Baby/Maya is an approximately 2 year-old, 27 lb. beagle mix. She is a total lovebug and is just the sweetest girl. Some of her favorite activities include giving kisses, snuggling on the couch, and going wherever her foster family goes. She loves to be where her people are and is always up for anything. That said, Maya is a medium-energy dog and settles very nicely on her dog bed when her people are involved in other activities. She does very well in a crate and is crated at night and when we are gone.

Maya gets along well with both our resident female dogs and will curl up in a bed with them or occasionally play chase in the yard. However, she is much more people-oriented, so would do fine in a home with or without canine siblings. Maya has been “kid-tested” and we feel she would do well with dog-savvy kids age 6 and up. She does tend to jump up to give kisses so may be too much for very young kids or those not accustomed to dogs. Maya has not been observed around cats.

In addition to being sweet and loving, Maya is very smart and really wants to please her people. She knows sit, stay, come, down, no, crate, outside and potty. She has not been at all destructive and has not gotten into anything she shouldn’t. She does not try to play with anything other than dog toys. Maya is about 98% house trained. Her new family will need to monitor her, especially at first, as she has not yet learned to signal that she needs to go out. She has had a couple of accidents in her foster home but these were due to foster mom not paying attention. Maya understands that she is supposed to potty outside and usually runs right out and does her business when she is let out.

Maya is a very confident dog who has shown no fears and does not seem fazed by anything.  She is a total gem of a girl, and would make a great addition to almost any family. She would do extremely well with additional training and has been one of the easiest fosters her foster family has had.

Please contact Midwest BREW for more information about this great girl.
