Adoption Day Info:
Come meet me at the PetSmart Northville MI Adoption Day! Sunday, April 14th, noon to 3pm.

Piper Pixar is a sweet, loving, playful little girl of about four years old.  Everyone who meets her falls in love and wants to scoop her up into their arms.  At just 18 pounds and about 13 inches to her shoulder, Piper is a little squirt who enjoys nothing more than snuggling with her people.  And with other dogs.  And with cats. She has a playful personality and enjoys little games of play bowing and running around the house with our cats and dogs.  She is crated when we are not home (up to about 5 hours at most), and has been crated overnight in our bedroom while healing from her spay procedure; she has been crate-clean every time.  Piper can be a little reluctant to enter her crate, but she wants to please her people and this smart cookie knows that she gets a treat when she goes inside.  Piper is currently being fed her meals in the crate as well in order to help her be more excited about it.  She is very quiet in her crate, and generally in the house, although this may change when she gets better acclimated to her home.  While she fits easily in a 20 inch crate, she enjoys the spacious luxury of a 36 inch crate as well.

Piper has not been around children and can be anxious with loud noises, so a home without children would probably be best for her.  Piper shows her anxiety by dropping to the floor and cringing a little bit, but once she realizes everything is okay she pops right up and is back to her usual eager to please and interactive self. This too might go away when she settles in to her new family.

Piper - also sometimes called Short Pipes - is housetrained, walks pretty well in her harness, and enjoys Kongs and other toys.  On a scale of 1 - 10, her energy level is about a 5.  She likes regular walks in the yard, playing a bit in the house, and then a long nap on the couch preferably next to her person.

Piper tested positive for Lymes Disease in March 2019 and is on a 30 day doxycycline antibiotic treatment program.

Because she wants nothing more than to be with her people, Piper would do best in a home that wants to interact, play, sit on the couch, etc with her.  She enjoys the company of other dogs, and a similar sized playmate would be preferable for her. Piper sleeps quietly throughout the night in our bedroom, currently in a crate, and would be happiest if her forever family allowed her to be with them overnight as well.

She is a lovebug with a terrific personality that will be a wonderful addition to some lucky family.

NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
