Diva is the perfect combination of high energy and couch potato. You won't believe how high she jumps when it’s time to go outside! And of course she gets very excited at meal times. Diva’s beagle hunting skills definitely shine when she sees or smells a deer or groundhog; she pulls on her leash and bays to sound the alarm. She is adorable when she does this, but would require a fenced yard or always being on a leash outside. The other side of Diva is she is very attentive to people; her tail wags and bottom wiggles if you even just look at her. If you are on the couch, she will snuggle in with you.

Diva’s original owners were going to euthanize her because she was overweight and had some anxieties. Since being taken in by Midwest BREW, her anxiety has practically disappeared, and she has lost 15 pounds! She does still have anxiety about going to the vet and having her nails trimmed, so her adoptive family will need to continue working with her on this.

She gets along well with her foster family’s two other dogs and four cats. They have made a lot of progress with housebreaking; when taken out on a leash, she will pee and poop consistently, but still has accidents inside the house.

Diva’s foster family loves her very much, and would absolutely adopt her if they didn’t already have so many pets. She will be a great dog for someone who wants a beagle with a big heart.
