Robert Hoke: To help offset part of Dolly's latest vet bill.

Hi, I’m Dolly! When I came to Midwest BREW, I was extremely obese, but I have lost over 30 pounds since coming to the rescue. My diet is nothing special, but it is very strict: I get fed two portioned meals each day and a few green beans between meals. I have a few more pounds to lose, so my forever family must be absolutely 100% committed to helping me reach my goal weight and to keeping the weight off.

I’m smart, too. I know my name, “sit,” “lay down, “roll over,” “come,” and “stay”; though I don’t usually obey if there isn’t a green bean treat being offered. I’m housetrained and will bark if I need to go outside. I am crate trained and will go into my crate when I’m directed to it. I stay in my crate while the humans are out of the house because I get into mischief when left unsupervised, but I don’t mind so long as it isn’t for too long. I really like going for walks and walk fairly nicely on a leash, though I will try to dash after critters if I see them. As I get in better shape, I’ve been going for longer walks and increasing my speed.

I like to play with toys and can be described as a “power chewer.” Now that I’ve lost a lot of weight, I have a lot more energy to run around the yard. My energy level is medium. I have also been trying to play more with the resident beagle, but I play a little too rough for her taste. I love going to the dog park. I’ve been doing better in the car, but I must be tethered because otherwise I climb all over. I am an excellent cuddler and love to be petted. My foster parents also say I’m the easiest beagle to bathe! I’m a really good dog who has a lot of love to give.
