Quincy * Good with DogsGood with CatsShyHousetrainedNot good in apartments
Gender: Male Age: 3 years Status: Available

Quincy is a 3 year old chocolate beagle who is looking for his special home.  His favorite thing is to be right beside his foster mom.  He loves to be brushed and loves all attention from his human.  He does well with the other dogs in the house except he tends to get upset if another dog tries to get any attention from his human.  He growls but does not try to bite.  This is referred to resource guarding.  He does not guard his food or toys.  We had a behaviorist observe him around other dogs and he passed with flying colors.  The behaviorist/dog trainer said he is totally a people dog through and through.

Quincy also cries when his human leaves.  He barks and cries for about a couple of minutes and then lies down to sleep with the other dogs.  He goes wild when his human returns.  He does his business and plays in a small fenced in space where the other dogs also play and run.  If he smells any little critter, he can bark and it is quite loud.  Therefore, he would not do well in an apartment setting.  He also does not like being in a crate.

He is not as food-motivated as a typical beagle.  He does like to walk on a leash and explore all the smells.

He is looking for a home where he is the only dog but cats would be OK.  Although he is fine with other dogs he does not want to share his human so this is why he would be best in a home as the only dog.  He would be happier as the center of attention.  He is gentle and when he looks at you with those pleading eyes, you naturally fall in love.

If you are interested in Quincy please let us know and his foster mom would love to talk about this very special beagle.

NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
