Beagle mix

Meet Medusa, an 8 1/2 month Bagel (Bassett-Beagle). At 29 pounds, she is a champion snuggler who likes to remove squeakers, jump Basset-height hurdles and all kinds of walkies. She’s great with dogs and cats, has been gentle with the children she has met, and likes car rides.

Dusa is quiet and a bit timid at first, but bonds easily once she’s used to you.  She uses her crate as a toy box, and likes to hide them under rugs and in corners. She’s even enjoyed a paddle in our grandson’s inflatable pool! She potties well, has a gentle mouth and doesn’t have a typical voracious Beagle appetite.

She easily takes medications when needed and is calm, playful and affectionate.

Unlike her namesake, “Dusa” won’t turn anyone to stone but she just might melt your heart.

NOTE: Dogs may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Please read our Standards for Adoption and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog that will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements. We discourage the adoption of puppies to families with children under the age of six, since puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets, hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.
